The general idea
To limit fraud, the Belgian administration requires the Horeca sector to use a certified cash register system: sales are recorded by a fiscal control module (often called the “black box”) linked to the till, which produces the official receipts.
The exact rules (who is concerned, which hardware, which dates) change: check them with the FPS Finance or your accountant, not in a software guide.
Who is concerned
Generally restaurants, cafes, bars, caterers and food-service activities. Retail businesses such as a grocery store or shop are not concerned in the same way, but obligations depend on your activity: ask your accountant.
